District Curriculum

Iowa Core Curriculum     Development Process    Revision Schedule    Standards & Benchmarks

The district's curriculum is expressed through a set of standards, benchmarks, and critical objectives that has been developed for each curricular program. Explanations of these terms are:

K-12 Standard: A global statement describing what all students should know or be able to do relative to the identified content area.

Benchmark: A statement that defines the expected skill level for each developmental level, such as at the end of 4th grade.

Critical Objective: A statement describing the specific skills or concepts for which direct instruction will be provided to all students at a particular grade or level, regardless of instructor.
